“I Eat Healthy”—Do Portions Still Matter?

By Coach Samiksha ·
Portioned bowls of nuts, brown rice, lentils, vegetables and peanut butter

Nuts instead of chips. Peanut butter. Brown rice. Homemade food. All nutritious choices—so why is the scale not moving?

Healthy does not mean unlimited

Nutritious foods still provide energy. A small portion of nuts can fit beautifully into your day. Several distracted handfuls at your desk are a different amount.

This does not mean fearing calorie-dense foods. It means noticing both quality and quantity.

Make portions easier

  • Serve food onto a plate instead of eating from the packet.
  • Measure foods such as oils or nut butter until portions feel familiar.
  • Eat slowly enough to notice satisfaction.
  • Build meals with protein, vegetables and fibre.
